Music therapy is an evidence-based practice combining client values and preferences, best practice from the literature, and therapist expertise.

    • Music therapy sessions are tailored to your specific needs. They may involve the following elements:

      • Introduction/warm-up

      • Intervention(s) designed to achieve specific goal

      • Transfer/review

      • Closing/goodbye

    • Singing, instruments, movement, relaxation, or music listening are incorporated into all elements of the session!

    • Music therapists address social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual goals by using a variety of music interventions.

    • Following an assessment, the music therapist will create a treatment plan involving several options that align with a client's strengths and needs.

    • An interest in music and a commitment to your personal goals are all it takes to be successful within a music therapy session.
